A special education technician by training, Vicky previously put her extensive knowledge of conciliation, listening and project management to good use as a Communications and Community Relations Advisor at our LaRonde Complex. Prior to that, Vicky was at the Carrefour de Rouyn-Noranda and the Commission scolaire de Rouyn-Noranda, where she worked with people of all ages and backgrounds to help them in their day-to-day lives and planning for the future.
Chantal Vallières has been a member of the Wasamac Mining Project team since August 2022 and is now Communications and Community Relations Coordinator. She is proud to welcome Vicky Couillard to the team. Both contribute their expertise and are available to answer any questions you may have about the Wasamac Mining Project at the Community Relations Office.

Two New Employees for the Community Relations Team

Chantal has over 20 years of experience in the health and social services sector. Her knowledge acquired in the field as a manager, including six years with an Indigenous community, and her experience as a psychosocial worker will be put to good use on the community relations team. Chantal holds a technical diploma and a Bachelor of Social Work, both proudly obtained from the region's educational institutions.
Sébastien has more than a dozen years of experience in event organization and education. He also has a wealth of experience in communications, particularly in the area of multimedia platform management – a definite asset for the community relations team. Sébastien earned technical diploma in social work from Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue and a certification in recreation and leisure studies from Cégep du Vieux Montréal.
Both of our new staffers have training in the psychosocial field, and both have creative, dynamic personalities and people skills that are sure to make for positive relations with neighbourhood residents. They have already stepped into their roles and are ready to welcome you to the community relations office.
Chantal and Sébastien will contribute their expertise to the community relations team, joining existing members Geneviève Tétreault, Communications and Community Relations Coordinator, and Marcel St-Pierre, Project Superintendent.

Sylvie brings over 15 years of experience in Human Resources in the mining industry. Sylvie joins us from Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue and was previously with Glencore, Fonderie Horne and Mines Agnico Eagle where she provided human resources strategic advice and support to the various business groups. She was also involved in providing various training, implementation of HRIS systems and reviewing various contracts and confidentiality agreements. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources from HEC Montreal and a Bachelor of Law from University of Montreal.
Sylvie will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching and support to managers and employees of the Wasamac projects and implementing human resources policies, programs and procedures.
We welcome Sylvie to the team!

Geneviève has more than 15 years’ experience in student life communications and organization in various Rouyn-Noranda schools.
Geneviève previously held the position of Communications and International Coordinator at Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue. She coordinated and implemented various communication strategies aimed at promoting the Cégep and recruiting students. She has a university degree in psychology in group intervention from Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue.
As part of the Wasamac underground mining project, Geneviève will be responsible for coordinating Yamana's various communications and initiatives aimed at stakeholders and the neighbourhood, and helping to identify opportunities for community collaboration and coordinating community activity organization.
