    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Steven Campbell to the position of Director, Engineering with Yamana Gold Quebec.


    Steven brings over 20 years of experience in engineering and project management in the mining industry.

    Steven joins us from SNC-Lavalin Inc. where he was Vice President for Northwestern Quebec, managing five offices in Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Northern Quebec offering multidisciplinary engineering services in gold, copper and nickel production and civil infrastructure. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Laval University.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Steven will be responsible for overseeing the engineering activities relating to the development of the Wasamac project, such as mine engineering, processing plant engineering, dry-stack plan, material handling system, civil engineering and all related construction activities.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Christine Blais Soucy to the position of Superintendent – Environment and Pemitting with Yamana Gold Quebec.


    Christine brings over 15 years of experience in environmental and permitting in the mining industry.

    Originally from Abitibi-Temiscamingue, Christine joins us from Glencore Mine Raglan where she was responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and permitting negotiation. She was involved in collaborating with different groups to implement an environmental permitting program to control environmental risks. She holds a Degree in Biology from Cégep de Sainte-Foy.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Christine will be responsible for overseeing the environmental and permitting for the Wasamac project and ensuring all processes are in compliance.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Brenda Brooks to the position of Executive Assistant and Office Administrator with Yamana Gold.

    Brenda Brenda brings over 30 years of experience in administration roles, with most of her experience in the mining industry with companies such as Agnico Eagle and Xstrata Nickel. She has gained her experience primarily in executive assistant roles, as well as in benefits administration. Her most recent position was with Newmont’s Eleonore mine as Assistant to General Management.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Brenda will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Directors and will provide coordination for the day‑to‑day operation of the office.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Me Mélissa Tardif to the position of Senior Legal Counsel with Yamana Gold Quebec.

    Melissa brings over 15 years of experience in the legal field specializing in mining and commercial law.

    Melissa joins us from the Ministry of Justice where she was responsible for providing advice on various legal matters. Prior to that, she spent several years working in the mining industry at Richmont Mines Inc. and subsequently Alamos Gold Inc. where she was responsible for reviewing and drafting various legal documents, policies and procurement agreements; communicating and negotiating with First Nations and unions, supporting permitting initiatives, and a variety of other legal mining matters.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Melissa will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the various stakeholders working on our initiatives in Quebec.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Claude Laflamme to the position of Superintendent, Accounting with Yamana Gold.

    Claude Laflamme brings over 25 years of experience in finance roles, with 12 years’ experience in the mining industry. He holds a CPA, CMA designation, and has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Montreal, and a Bachelor of Accounting Science from HEC University.

    Previously, Claude has held Director of Finance positions at Newmont-Goldcorp’s Eloenore Mine and Glencore’s Matagami Mine, in addition to controllership and procurement roles at other large organizations.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Claude Laflamme will be responsible for all accounting and finance activities related the Wasamac mine and Yamana’s other North American exploration projects. He will oversee the implementation of controls and finance processes at the Wasamac project and will report key finance expenditures and metrics to corporate. Claude will build and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders to support all finance functions in the Abitibi as Yamana’s footprint in the region expands and will work closely with the corporate finance team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Duclos to the position of Director, Safety, Environment & Permitting with Yamana Gold.

    Martin brings over 30 years of experience in environment and permitting in the mining industry and Ministry of Quebec. He holds a degree in Natural Environment/Environment Specialization from Cégep de St-Félicien.

    Martin joins us from Canadian Malartic where he held the position of Manager, Sustainable Development & Environment for the last 3 years. He was responsible for permitting strategies and implementation, first nations relations, management systems implementation and site reclamation. Prior to that, he was with Goldcorp-Éléonore Mine and Stavibel (SNC-Lavalin).

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Martin will be responsible for the safety, environmental and permitting of the Wasamac project. He will be responsible for developing and implementing phase appropriate safety and environmental management systems to ensure compliance with existing permits and applicable safety and environmental requirements aligned with Yamana’s HSSD framework. He will be responsible for developing and implementing permitting strategies and working closely with the regulatory agencies. As well as working with consultants to guide and coordinate implementation of environmental baseline studies.

    Sebastien brings over 10 years of experience as a Geologist in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. He holds a Diploma in Laboratory Science and Technology – Biological Engineering, a Bachelor in Earth and Environment Sciences, as well as a Master of Professional Geology of Natural Resources from University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse (France).

    Previously, he worked for 4 years with Technominex at various projects, including Monster Lake, Heva and Nelligan, and more recently, he provided project management services for the exploration drilling program, as well as personnel management at the Wasamac project

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Sébastien will continue to support and supervise aspects of the exploration drill program at the Wasamac property.

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Martin François Turgeon to the position of Superintendent, Procurement and Warehousing with Yamana Gold.

    Martin François brings over 30 years of experience in procurement and supply chain, including 15 years’ experience in the mining industry, with Agnico-Eagle – Meadowbank Division and more recently Hecla Quebec – Mine Casa Berardi. He holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Administration from the University of Quebec in Abitibi-Temiscamingue. Through his experiences, Martin François worked with various suppliers to ensure that logistics of distribution were met in a timely manner. He was also responsible of the control and application of procurement policies and procedures, negotiations with suppliers and optimizing inventory management.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, Martin François will be responsible of the activities surrounding inventory management and control and purchasing of goods and services for the Wasamac project, in compliance with Yamana’s governance requirements. In addition, he will build relationships with the various suppliers, local communities, and internal and external stakeholders.

    I am pleased to announce that Jean-Pierre Landry has joined Yamana Gold at the Wasamac Project as Director, Engineering and Construction.

    Jean-Pierre brings over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and 17 years project management experience in the mining industry. Jean-Pierre joins us from J.Y. Moreau Electrique Inc. where he was Vice President, Major Projects. He was responsible for leading different projects from the construction and engineering phase and in charge of the bid department. Jean-Pierre is a Civil Engineer with a diverse experience in different mining projects in various locations especially in the Quebec and Ontario regions. Jean-Pierre will be responsible for managing the engineering and infrastructure construction of the Wasamac project. He will be responsible for ensuring that the multidisciplinary construction plan adheres to the highest standards of occupational health, safety and environmental and that the services and products meets budgets and deadline. He will be involved in all levels of the project from the pre-economic analysis, to the feasibility and study phases, as well as execution. Jean-Pierre will be based in Rouyn-Noranda in Quebec and report directly to myself.

    A new team member joins Yamana Gold

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Manon Garant to the position of senior project geologist with Yamana Gold.

    Manon is originally from Abitibi and has lived in Rouyn-Noranda for years. She earned a diploma in mining technology from Cégep de l’Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Rouyn-Noranda and a Bachelor of Geology from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. She has worked in the mining industry for 13 years, first as a mining technician and assistant geologist, followed by eight years as a project geologist with Entreprises minières Globex.

    Manon has worked in Abitibi, but also in Côte-Nord, Nord-du-Québec, Gaspésie and Charlevoix on gold mining projects and others involving base metals (copper, zinc), lithium and titanium. She has been active at the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM), Rouyn-Noranda branch, since 2016 and has served as its vice president since December 2019.

    In connection with the Wasamac underground mining project, she will be responsible for regional exploration and drilling on the Wasamac property.
