Summary of the Monitoring Committee Meeting on April 8, 2026

The main objective of the second meeting of the monitoring committee was to continue developing the Good Neighbor Guide.

A significant portion of the meeting was devoted to presenting the approach and principles of the Good Neighbor Guide, a tool designed to guide the integration

between the mining project and the surrounding community throughout the mine’s entire lifespan. The first version of the Guide is scheduled to take effect in 2027, with periodic revisions every three years to incorporate the results of the environmental assessment and adjustments required based on public feedback.

A preliminary proposal for compensation programs aimed at mitigating the impacts and inconveniences associated with the project’s various phases (development, construction, operation, and active restoration) was presented. These programs are designed to address disturbances related to noise, traffic, dust, and vibrations, as well as certain constraints associated with environmental monitoring and coexistence. The proposed terms aim to provide predictable, transparent, and equitable compensation, while minimizing administrative burdens for the neighborhood.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to clarify the areas covered by the Guide, namely, the project zone and the immediate neighborhood zone, as well as the programs applicable to each. It was reiterated that, even beyond these zones, mechanisms for information sharing, communication, community projects, and handling reports will remain in place.

The next steps include continuing discussions with the Committee, conducting summer consultations with the neighbourhood, and drafting the implementation version of the Good Neighbourhood Guide.

Two in-person meetings of the Monitoring Committee are scheduled between now and the summer.
